Literature Text
Nimble as a jaguar,
quick as a doe.
Bounding through a sleeping forest.
Swerving here and there...
to avoid the resounding billow of anguish,
laying thick as a cloud,
upon the bloodied earth.
What is this beauty?
With the downy fur of a newborn kitten,
and hooves of molten gold.
Who else sees what I...
am lucky enough to gaze my eyes upon.
A flash of light,
a neigh, piercing as a crystal bell,
and saddening as the murky dusk,
and then...
silence.
Soft as a downy wing,
it settles upon the carnage.
The animal collapses to the ground.
A cone,
clear as purest glass
lays upon the head,
of the shattered form.
Light,
just a speckle and a spark,
shines from the diamond horn.
The forest leans in.
Waiting.
Waiting.
The light rises to a bubbling shine,
and then to a blinding sun,
erasing all the damage it surrounds.
And slowly,
ever so slowly,
the light dims.
The great beast raises it's head one last time,
and whines a pitiful neigh,
as the light shimmers,
and then goes out.
Forever.
The great horse bows it's head,
thumping to the forest earth.
And all goes quiet,
once again.
